‘Depositing digital publications - a legislative framework for Belgium’ by the Flemish Heritage Library

Thanks to legal deposit, the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR) receives a copy of every Belgian publication printed. In contrast to most European countries, it is not compulsory to desposit online publications in Belgium. The Royal Library of Belgium indicated that it wanted to start up and coordinate a legislative initiative regarding digital depositing, in collaboration with the communities. Following this, we carried out further research so that the Royal Library of Belgium has sufficient information for a legislative initiative.
