Seventh IIIF Friday on 14 October
How do you display IIIF images and manifests in a single viewer interface? We’ll tell you more about this at the new IIIF Friday. On 14 October, we’re organising the seventh edition in partnership with the Flemish Art Collection (VKC), Ghent University Library and Bruges Public Library (link in Dutch). Our IIIF Fridays are aimed at informing the sector about image exchange applications and encouraging the use of IIIF.
What?
The International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) is a standard that makes it easier to exchange images between different systems. This framework consists of four APIs and has been drawn up by a consortium of university libraries, heritage institutions, museums and software companies. It provides a solution to the challenge of exchanging images between different systems, which is much easier if your image server satisfies the IIIF specifications.
Programme
This edition of IIIF Friday will focus on IIIF viewers, which allow you to open images and manifests from one or more digital collections in a single viewer interface, and are particularly useful for comparison and research purposes.
Practical
Who for?
The workshop is interesting for cultural heritage organisations who want to implement IIIF to unlock their collections.
When and where?
The seventh edition will again take place online, this time on Friday 14 October, 14.00-15.30.
