Events privacy statement

It is necessary to process personal data in order to organise events (e.g. conference, training, webinar, etc.) This is subject to personal data processing legislation. This privacy statement further explains the way in which meemoo uses (the law says ‘processes’) your personal data.

You can find our general privacy statement here.

What personal data do we process?

We process some of the personal data that is requested on the event registration form. This data is required to provide the services that we offer. We will ask you for your express permission separately for any recordings or photographs in which you can be seen. We will also clarify at that time why we are making these recordings or taking these photographs.

How long is your data stored?

Meemoo will keep your data for ten years after the event for administration and evidence purposes.

What data do we share with third parties?

If meemoo is the sole organiser of the event and does not use other organisations, for example for event registration or managing a webinar platform, then the personal data processed in connection with this event will not be passed on to third parties.

If we collaborate with another organisation as a co-organiser, or if another organisation is responsible for managing registrations or a webinar platform, the necessary data will be shared with that organisation. The co-organiser’s details are always listed on the registration form.

Meemoo may use suppliers (e.g. IT, cloud storage or CRM) to process your personal data, which means that your personal data may also be processed by these parties. We of course make the necessary arrangements with these sub-processors to guarantee that your personal data is always secured at a technical and organisational level.

What rights do you have?

You have various rights for the processing of personal data, i.e.:

  • the right to inspect your personal data;

  • the right to improve your personal data;

  • the right to delete your personal data;

  • the right to object to the processing of your personal data;

  • the right to restrict the processing of your personal data;

  • the right to transfer the personal data that you have provided to another party.

You can send requests to exercise your rights to meemoo’s data protection officer. Please send such a request by email to privacy@meemoo.be. Please enclose a copy of the front and back of your identity card with your request, so that meemoo can be sure that you are the person whose personal data is involved. The data protection officer will check that you can indeed exercise the right in question or if there are any legal impediments to doing so. If the latter is the case, this will be communicated in a substantiated manner.

Where can you submit your complaint?

If you do not agree with the way in which meemoo processes your data, you can always write to meemoo’s data protection officer (privacy@meemoo.be) to explain this. You can also always submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority or Flemish Supervisory Commission.
